Nice and readable sprites, one idea could be having the grey bits as desaturated yellow. Unless, as cure said, you're going for monochrome.
yellow is opposite of purple, so they do tend to burn a bit. might as well keep the monochrome look.
I don't mind the yellow, but you may want to make it a notch or two brighter since it appears to be about the same value as the purple. Anyway, this is neat!
Er, capricious toying with colors, I suppose. If they look so awkward, then I'd better destroy them.
