You should just avoid 1x1 dithering in general, because the 1x1 pixel pattern is just not helping some parts of this piece. Just makes the top part in the middle look very flat to me.
I second that it's very nice overall, but would greatly benefit from some actual attention to how pixels interact on the, eh, pixel-level (pixel banding in particular is hurting this piece a lot). It's something that has bothered me when seeing your art on TIGS, and it's really a shame since it has so much potential.
Looking forward to more from you.
I really love the attention to the details here! This is really neat stuff you got going on here.
i like ur concept sketches but the pixelwork isnt doing it for me :(
Whoa. Mind blown. I like the organic-looking elements with junk attached (the opposite of many space shoot-em-ups in which machines are overgrown with organics).
Fucking amazing! 7/7 with a bonus for the coloring that reminds me of 90s games such as Flashback.
It's a pity that it loses some of the subtle shading of the concept paintings. There are some clearly distinct ramps, and no colors that bridges them, so some elements just seem "pasted", out-of-place. For example, the cylinder hanging above the character.
While the lines're great, I have to agree with Atomic Mushroom, the colouring is terrible some places.
Otherwise great work. 4/5
The art itself is great, but the pixel tech is definitely lacking. First thing that jumped out at me is the banding, but there are other issues such as unnecessary dithering, noisy pixel clusters, and lack of AA. I would suggest looking through this thread: http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=8110.0 (Pixelation is also a great place for critique).
i love your characters suit, err mech suit? such an elegant design. great pixel work!
Impressive, but the background is hard to distinguish from the foreground. Really nice detail though!
a proper scrolling system needs to be implemented along the zooming function. besides that(wich is something site-side and has nothing to do with the work itself)
pixels were shat.
Very nice work
