Yeah, I forgot the vanishing point. It's almost opposite the way it should be. I did realize that shortly after I submitted this. This really just started out as a doddle. I had a little time and was intrigued by the negative comments about the challange...plus I like landscapes.
Anyway if I find some time I will make some changes. Thanks for all the comments everyone!
The waves really need a vanishing point (the liines run parrallelish to the horizon), otherwise the sun is setting behind the edge of the world.
I think this could be vastly improved with greater contrast, still a good piece regardless. Some more pixel refinement couldn't hurt either.
The tree doesn't quite fit yet. The rest is very well done though!
As effective as the water is against the sunset, the tree and the surface it's on blend with the sand too much. IMO, it looks like theres a line of grass going along the sea with a tree on it and the water coming in on both sides, plus the tree looks a little flat. But those are the only glaring problems I can see, otherwise its brilliant, especially for 10 colors. (Also, maybe more texture in the sand could help). The foreground may be a little bit rushed compared to the water and sky?
But I am a noob, without the most experience or artistic ability, so those 'problems' may not be problems.
.PS. I can tell that its a beach with some sort of grassy cliff with a tree growing on it, with the tide coming in.
Beautiful.
