Very cool. The specular on the abdomen might have a little too much contrast against the shadow on its right. Also, I think it could look even better with the grey background you have in the preview - on my light theme the colour variation in the legs is invisible :(

i thought the bright speculars were useful for conveying the way an exoskeleton reflects light. i dunno if dulling them entirely is best, maybe adding a color to ease their transition. still looks good either way.

Oh, heck yes!  If I have a gripe, it is the contrast between the highlight and the dark area on the front of his face--it's a very hard transition which could use some AA.  Still, really great work!
