I am a Mac user too and nothing really beats PS for us. One of the few things that sux is that scale thing. When I do that I always make sure the marquee is bigger than whatever I scale, unless you are scaling with an 8x view :/
On the other hand multiple windows of the same art at different % makes it all worthwhile.
ps: Seashore is kinda OK and free so its worth getting just to have. It does have layers but not much more.
What tool would you recommend for pixel work? I'm on Mac and tried lots of stuff, starting from Pixelmator, Acorn, Pixen and even Grafx2. The last one would've been awesome, but it's truly from the past.
That -+ pixel always happens in PS when you scale to 2X...I hate that >:(
Hehe :) Thanks, Photocopier! Just wanted to have it as my ava, that's it. Yeah, noticed now that I've cropped the top and expanded the bottom by one pixel. Will update it when I have the new version of the character.
When you resized this you accidently cropped off the very top, see how that line of pixels is thinner?
also you FYI incase you didn't know, you could post your pictures at 1x if you want to because pixeljoint has an built in zoom feature.
I recommend gimp for Mac
