This is a good tip for getting ideas for palette improvement, but should not be used for the actual pixelling! Pixel art is all about hand picked colors!
Do try a 4 color version (gameboy or lil'dudes palette).
The little sprite looks good, but gets out of the page when zoomed (tip: avoid wide pieces on PJ because of this website zooming issue. You could have stacked the screens vertically instead).
Also this piece looks too uniformly scribbly as a whole. Good first submission though!
This is great. I like the rough, woodcut-like look (especially the skull entrance)
The colour count can be reduced (if you use Photoshop, try Mode > Indexed color > Local perceptual and set the colours to around 10). Also, you might want to adjust the text kerning, so that the spacing between each letter is the same.
Apart from that, great first entry!
it looks very good! instead of 25 ugliesh yellows try using the 4 color gameboy palette. in pixel art it is a good thing to keep color counts low. a lot of these colors could be combined into one color.
The textures here are really cool, and I really like the idea of using a nauseating yellow for a horror game. I have mixed feelings about the level of contrast (or lack thereof) that you're using: the gameplay screens look kind of "muddy" and I feel like you could have used more black/darker colours in those areas. At the same time, it sort of adds to a horror atmosphere in its own way in that it makes everything feel kind of foggy.
