how could i take away the white bg?

This needs more work before it’s ready for the gallery. The white background will need to be removed. The body looks like a rectangle or cylinder, having more organic forms would help. If those are dreads on the head, they need more volume. The head itself looks too circular. The shading doesn’t make a lot of sense, and is applied in large thick bands. Eye looks a bit square. Overall the character is pretty ambiguous, if you make a WIP thread then including a sketch would help us figure out your direction.
