Cliff Edwards (aka Ukulele Ike) was a famous vaudville entertainer and the voice of Jiminy Cricket in 'Pinochio'. Sadly, his story is practically unknown.

the way you tackled this is so beast--  from the caricature itself all the way down to your use of color-- softly applied skin tones (and a wonderful, well thought out pose as well),

There's a fair bit of banding, and I think the purple highlight on the headstock should be the browny orange you used on the body highlight :)
