@manupix: I think a bit of the reason for the transparency was that traditionally, dolls are always set against transparent backgrounds so I thought it was fine like that. I do realize it looks quite empty now :/
@jabber: ya i couldn't decide whether to aa for a light or a dark background. when i have time to go back, I am planning to add a background so I'll hopefuly fix that outline
@Mis-BUG: i'll look into that once I have more time, thanks!
The skirt looks too flat because the edges are straight and not wavy as the front part.
Anyway the piece is sweet and there are a couple of details that made me drool. Good work!
I think you did a great job with the lighting; it's the most compelling part of the image in my opinion, and some of the best I've seen. I don't really like the dark outline on her legs and dress, but it's a beautiful piece of work otherwise.
Great colors and light!
What was the point to make it transparent though?
thanks everyone!
dpixel:bigheads tend to infiltrate my work even though i'm trying to move away from it. i'll keep it in more mind for next time though
peach:thanks for the feeback, I'll keep that in mind next time I do a flowy dress!
drazelic: i did take the perspective into consideration, initially when the angle of the window was much sharper. I made it a little flatter so I was hoping that the flat-perspective bars wouldn't be too noticeable. (also, and mostly, I was getting lazy :P)
The angle of the crossed framing over the window is actually slightly skewed due to the tilting angle that we see the window's stony frame on, but that's a non-issue really. Loving the piece!
Very nice! Love the lighting effect. She seems somewhat short though. Almost like the head and neck are a bit too big for the body. Still love this though. Faved.
I saw the thread on the forums and the progression and work behind it is really nice.
apart from that I still don't fancy the skirt which seems to be too much solid in my opinion.
Love the shadow/light casting
Beautiful job, nice progress too compared to the original sketch. I really like the mix of warm and cool colours.
Lighting is the best part of this piece.
Stunning.
