I think there should be more transition between the cliff and the ground, it seems to sudden.
@Aureeo: The red spots are tree branches, I kinda failed at making that noticable :P
@Cure: Thanks for the critique! Yeah this piece could be toned down quite a bit. If I find the time I will definitely go back and re-vamp it.
I've been wondering for awhile. What are the red spots on the tree?
REALLY nice piece, though. I LOVE your art.
I think a greener color would work better for the trees' shadows. The fox thing's anatomy is a bit wonky. Other than that and the aforementioned saturation issue, this is nice. Especially the trees and the dirt-to-dirt edge.
Haha yes. Someone already pointed that out. I think I remember that it didn't fit when it was spelled correctly xD If I wasn't lazy I'd update it though.
Love it, simple and... oversaturated, lol.
Also Isn't it "setTings" ?
A bit too over-saturated, but lovely none-the-less! :)
Keep it up.
iLKke: Yeah it's my gamma settings in Photoshop 7.0. I have no clue how to change them, but it always adds around +15% or +25% contrast when I save it. It's very annoying. Of course, my coloring is already harsh and over saturated before that happens. It just turns out well... like this :P. Yeah I wanted to try a different way of showing a map icon, in game it was supposed to change biome based on the game biome. (If you were in a snow place, the map icon would be snowy). Thanks for the feedback!
Perihelion: Priority could be a way of symbolism too right?
Judging from the colors on all of your submissions, I would guess that your monitor is set as too bright. You tend to severly oversaturate the colors and there are a lot of dark parts that swallow the details (not in this pic tho).
As for the art itself, it's not half bad. My favourite bit are the three bottom icons. The rightmost one (map?) is simply awesome!
Priority is definitely a great thing to consider, especially with game mockups. Foreground elements should be distinct from background elements in hue, saturation, and/or brightness.
Thanks for all of the feedback!
King_of_Games: I have never considered priority with my colors before, thank you for saying that - you may have just changed quite a bit of my future art!
allaze-eroler: This was a pretty old project so we most likely won't go back to finish it, but thanks for the software link!
Perihelion: Wow that is such a huge difference. Definately looks more proffesional.
pixel_rob: That it is xD
Yeah the priority is messed up because of how vibrant everything is.
very awesome ! :D did you know that you can get an interesting software for to finish your project ? there : http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/product/ig-maker
Oh hell yes, I love this. Your trees are gorgeous! I like your vibrant colors individually, but I think they clash when put together, especially the yellowish grass. I think something more pastel and bluish would look a bit more unified. This is a pretty bad edit, and I think I lowered the saturation too much, but maybe something more along these lines?

Anyway, really nice work.
settings is spelt wrongly, other than that, very nice art work.
Loving these colors. Especially the blue trees! The flat areas are looking... a bit too flat. Like bill said, It's an easy fix by adding a more shading along the edges of the grass and dirt.
I think you should add some shadow in places around the edges of the grass. Right now it lacks the depth of the trees and rocks.
Also, awesome.
Something about this style is just absolutely delicious. Beautiful tiles. I think the lettering (settings/quit/save) could stand to be a bit brighter for readability and the cave entrance could stand to be darker as well. I also think the grass is a little too yellow.
Deliciously vibrant.
