300 is not the most historycally accurate tale out there. Spartans were actually fully clad in armor from head to toe. /nerd

Agree with Cure on the stability thing, and I also have to add that you might be giving away an opportunity with the spear. It is really bland right now, and actually not even a real spear (more like a stick with a metal edge on the end). A real spear would, for balance and impact power, always be held more in the middle rather than at the end. Working on his weapon would add a lot to the character, since it is an integral part of this piece.
Also, the sign on the shield feels random.
I'd do some research on spears and shields, then go back to the drawing board for the spear in general and for the shields symbol (the shield itself looks good)

it feels like his center of gravity is off a bit to the right, if the head were further back and maybe higher by a pixel or two might help, sitting the torso back a tad might as well.
