its not a matter of being forgiven for your sins. dont victimize yourself over this.

you now what you should do? leave this here, keep that ribbon, and move on. why? because someday, you'll brows back in your gallery and find this, and whenever that happens and you feel confident enough to rework it to your proper skill level, you'll do it, and you'll feel the sdatisfaction of doing so.

you have to enjoy this. do it not for the challenges or the prizes or even for the recognition or attentions  from others. do it for the sake of the pleasure in expressing yourself thru this medium(or whatever medium you decide to use). in the very moment you realise you did a sprite or a piece of pixel art because you wanted to do it and you feel satisfied with it, you'll discover how amazing is to move pixels around to create works that can surprise you.

In terms of the shading, i don't know what i was thinking, not sure why i thought this was any good, the background was on the spot testing, and this is simply a horror, i must've been really tired when i made this, i tend to make bad pieces and call them good when i'm tired, i also want to thank you for the help, and advice, and hope you can forgive me for making such a terrible piece.

lack of shading, presentation looks overly rushed, the palette seems rather random at points /and such a desaturated enviroment and then violently jumping into that cyan)

the whole conceot is utterly boring and lackluster. seems more like a filler entry for the sake of getting a green ribbon rather than an actual effort to rpdoce something with a defined concept and/or idea behind it. as if you just managed to gather a bunch of rectangles, painted windows on them and slapped that terribly out of place text at the left and called it a day.

what i mean witht his is basically, this is so poor right now that if improving is your goal at some point in your life, you should take this down, (later, i'm p sure you dont want to take it now so you can say you7 joined the challenge) and make it a personal challenge to rework this in a way it would actually display technique and understanding of such basic concepts as shading, desing and/or at least a clear concept.
