Awesome. There is a white stray in the middle of the figures though. I also agree with iMoose about the varations being barely noticable... Took me quite a while. Keep it up! :)
Looks great, but having red blood on a red character makes this inadequate as a health indicator.
Bonus points for even mentioning the amazing Grandia 2 battle system, will have to keep an eye out for this game.
I agree with cure, it took me a very long time to notice the differences between the 4 images. At first all I noticed was the last one has his eye closed. Still, the base sprite itself looks quite good.

Yes, 90% the texture is completely absurd, but I have a thing for that, I can't help it. I've been striving for some time to develop it into a style, but only time will tell if I will eventually succeed!

Well, the devs have that standard of progressive damage... about the red blood, I myself can see it clearly, but maybe it's because I know it's there? I just thought that actually *red* blood would look more gore-y than purple or grenn blood, which are the alternatives that come to mind. Eventually I'll do a recolored-and-pimped-out-flame-breathing version if this, and in that case, it won't even have blood ;¬)
