The jaggedy lines which go through the lower legs kind of jump out but except from that minor issue I'm loving it, especially the way the full hair is suggested with just those two flowy lines.
Nah, I can not say I think that looks good. I am not gonna edit a single pixel on this anymore.
I an ideal world a lot of things could be a tad better :D Glad you like it.
Turned out real nice. Glad you changed the nipple colour, this works great. I like the idea of viewing it sideways :D
Perhaps hands could be a tad better.
Well, I made it to run on real hardware. So I wont compromise that, sorry.
Moving the legs together might be more feminine, but also it looks less grounded/stable.
Also I have to say I do not care about making stuff that follows ideals. I like strong legs, so there you go.
And stealing stuff from the face would be a very bad idea. Try it, she gets ugly really fast if you do that.
I haven't seen previous version, but I agree with everything that was written before: namely, that it is wildly cool and that there's something to tweak with legs. Maybe not only anatomy (which allright, but could be more idealised to look better), but also pose (when feet closer it looks more feminine). Maybe they need to be longer.
I think that art should be above technical authenticity, and if not, you always can steal a row or two from nose and chin.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
I did some tweaks to the neck, shoulders and calves. The thing is she is spanning the total width of the C64 resolution, meaning the hair and feet touch the borders, and when I shift something inside I have to make sure I do not introduce new colours into a character and whatnot. But I think it looks better now. It was not a very long worked on piece, couple of hours, but I am happy with how it came out and because I like it I edited it a bit :)
This is really gorgeous. I love your 4 color pallete work. :)
I agree with everyone else that there is something off about the anatomy that I can't put my finger on, but I think the legs look fine. She doesn't have much of a neck. maybe making the neck longer will lengthen the torso and make the thicker legs look less noticable? If it's not that then maybe the shoulders are too narrow because my eyes go straight to the legs when I look at this peice.
Great piece. Regarding the legs, I've seen many shapes and lengths that resemble very much what you have drawn here, although some may prefer a more perfect/normal(?) take.
The apex of the calf is too far down. Other than that, pretty much the best human form piece I've seen in c64 limits.
I see an anatomy awkwardness, I agree it might be in the legs but I can't point it precisely. Nice nonetheless.
i only have an issue with the shape of the legs. the rest is great!
