Nice one. Love the jacket and helmut. The comics and movie are great stuff!
Yeah, that movie is great! And the same guy is directing Captain America, too.
Also, great job on the actual pixels. I really like how you handled the cloth and leather textures.
"The Rocketeer", from 1991, starring Billy Campbell and Jennifer Connelly, and based on a comic by Dave Stevens, who was likely inspired by the series of old black and white adventure serials by Republic Studios, featuring "Commando Cody", who had a similar costume and jet pack. The second series is notable for having one of Leonard Nimoy's first screen appearances, playing an evil Martian!
They were okay, but I remember really enjoying the movie, so I recommend it!
Edited to address some of those issues iLKke and Leroy raised (composition, weird arm), also raised the fin a little bit which I think makes it look more front-on.
Thanks for the comments and criticisms everyone :)
Awesome! I really love the way you shade, as well as your color choices. Fav
Good stuff.
You could have compensated for the posture just by editing the rocket trail (and moving the figure to the left) .
Calling this the first flight is a good excuse for the pose!
This is great but I wouldn't have used dithering on what seems to be a leather jacket. Makes it look fiberish. But that's just me. And his left arm seems much too thin and maybe a bit too long even when you consider the perspective. And the whooshy thing in his helmet looks like it's more on right side, you should try to make it thicker by 1 pixel to correct that.
And about the harness, it looks like it only goes around the neck and side, the belt doesn't look like it's a part of it and the pilot would be strangled.
waw ! it seems good but it would be better if there were clouds
Rocketeer!
