It's both lovely and a little bit foreboding at the same time.
Shame about those enfornced ugly black lumps in the middle separate from the outside edge. I can only read those black blots as loose leaves in the foreground. Perhaps, if you were allowed, it would've been wise to use a near dark colour (not too close to black, that would make it basically cheating) , such as a deep blue, to "finish" off that sharpe edge by anti-aliasing. You could also use this for adding twigs and more leaf-like shapes onto those areas.
Otherwise, looking good
It's like looking through a bush. I love the atmosphere in this piece.
