-DE-, all that pics was drawn ~10 years ago, and most of them are copies, i can't change that statement. But there is also some quite original works, e.g. http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/63824.htm
About "art parasite". Thank you for so kind words. Pixelling is just my hobby and i'm still learning to draw. And i'm not trying to state that all that pics is MY OWN ARTWORK, most of originals are well known and every work has a link to the original below.
And i'm not trying to impress personally you. I'm just pixelling for my own enjoyment :-P
Are you planning to ever draw something that's not a copy of someone else's work? Or will you forever remain an art parasite?
Because, you know, these inferior pixel art copies of posters and photos leave me completely cold. Even the palette's not yours...
The head tilt gives it more 'personality' in my opinion. It's fine as it is.
yes, you chose no tilt, i've chosen "to tilt" and ofcourse the lowres played a joke in my case.
I see where you are coming from. I think this is a classic case of "resulotion too low, no colours to AA"
While in my version you think the tilt is too little (none) in yours it is too much I think. But it is a minor quibble. :)
P.S. and yes, maybe right earphone placed too high considering the helmet tilt angle, didn't noticed that earlier.
Jackman941, bobowitz, Slurpen, xxmantisxx, IIII and everyone who faved - thanks a lot for your feedback!
Ptoing, thank you for the effort, but let me explain. First of all look at that.
Yes, your version has a helmet/visor angle CLOSER to original image. BUT in original the head is a bit tilted. Yes, the original angle is very small. But if i draw the helmet straight ahead i will lose the tilt and some MOOD, where head is turned and a bit tilted. That is only my opinion.
Anyway thank you for your opionion, it's very interesting when ppl have a look to your work from a different angle :-D.
How about something like this?
I tried to make her visor more like in the original, as well as pronouncing the lines in the helmet a bit more. In your version the visor looks oddly skewed. Still technically very sound pixelwork.
Christoballs, oh no. It must be a different angle. Just one pixel down make it looking wrong IMO. Only horizontal line (in that resolution) fits the original.
i've made an edit of the thigh and visor to show what i meant:

i hope it helps!
:) the colours is native ZX Spectrum palette, i can't change it, so most of pics looks very contrast.
No, visor contour must be continued horizontally, but due to Speccy gfx limitations i can't draw better. I've used 2 colours in the next cell to draw the white highlight. It was a hard choice but i think it looks ok, if we will look into the red pixels above, they limits the visor with the right shape.
i love what you did with the colours here!
i would've put a lot more blue and a bit green (instead of the yellow) on the thigh nearest to the gun, and maybe even some grey. i think the right side of the visor could do with its outline being higher, too.
-DE-: wtf? Do you even know what this is?
