Thanks for the feedback! I'll try using less colours... I'll give a go making it smaller too. It was so large, I ended up being lazy with the hair. Will be a fun exersize!

I think the pidgeon icon is pretty adorable. I had to look through a bunch until I found yours, I really like it.

I thought there was less than 30 colours used. 

Well it's uber cute, but the size sort of defeats the purpose of pixel art. It's impossible to really give attention to the placement of each single pixel when there's so many of them, and as a result the piece suffers from jaggyness of some lines, and uncontrolled dithering. I'd strongly suggest to try doing it at 1/4th the present size.

Another thing would be to try mixing your color ramps, which are presently monochromatic and separate. Try to find a few common colors to bridge them, and reuse the colors throughout the piece. Reducing colors is a good tool to achieve this; 16 should be reasonable.

The character is nice; the face might use some polishing. The absence of hands is a bit disturbing too.
