This is the animated pixel art logo for my company, Toxic Blob, that appears at the start of the trailer for my upcoming iPad game, Sin or Win.
I initially drew the animation at a 1:1 scale. I then realised that I didn't like the uniformity of the pixels for the toxic blob character. I could only get it looking either too tall, or too squat. So I scaled up my animation, then made the final character from non-uniform blocks. I think the effect is subtle, but it allowed me to get the proportions I wanted. The final look of the logo in the trailer has some non-pixelart effects applied.
The rest of my Sin or Win game isn't pixel art, though I had initially planned on going that route. My Grim Reaper character was one of the initial pixel art designs. |
Had a look and I did indeed have 2 extra colours. It now has the correct number, five. Black for the background, green for the toxic blob, and three colours for the fading in of the text.
