Edit// Think it should be okay now. So the highlights have been undithered and the highlight color has been darkened a bit.

Edit// Back to old one. It resized all funnily. o.o;; Think I'll fix that.

EDIT// Messed with the shading. Un-dithered the brighter bits and lowered the contrast between the highlight and color right beneath it to make it less stark.

Made for an avatar for myself.

I wanted to use just four colors. Pretty successful, I think. :?

 @Delicious, @Big Brother, @Christoballs

Sorry for not responding sooner. I've felt like not responding to anyone the last few days. :P
Anyways, I tried the dithering-deletion and re-cropping. I think I might edit this again to add a fourth color for some extra bits of highlight.

Ahh, I'm almost intimidated to share my dA. xD miilydork.deviantart.com A lot of stuff on there is super old because my freshman year sucked up all of my time. But I do have some new things. ^^

Ok, I see what you mean. I'd give what Delicious and big brother are suggesting a try!
Also, you mentioned dA; if you have more art on there, I'm sure myself amongst others would like to check it out!

I like the cropping in the photobucket version better. The shape of your hair adds personality and makes you more recognizable. I agree with Delicious: try a hybrid of your dither and non-dither versions. Leave the dither in the shadows and on the texture of the clothing but make the shading on your face smooth. That way you can add subtle highlights to describe your features in more detail. At this small size, the dither makes the texture of your skin look more porous (or furry?). Great start! I look forward to more art.

Very nice. I do agree with your point on the non-dithered version, however this one is a bit over-dithered. Perhaps combining the two could help? Regardless, nice work.

 @CELS Thanks. ^^

@Christoballs I originally didn't have it, but it felt too much like the poster filter some graphics programs had.

I don't think dithering was a good idea.

Very well done.
