I've been playing AoE3 a lot lately, and Spahis are one of my favorite units (historically being a pretty wide-ranging concept, in the game they're represented as superheavy cavalry with an area-of-effect attack). There's so much awesome military culture from the middle-east that's just not common knowledge these days.
AoE3's particularly fun just because it lands in the pike-and-shot era when every culture's soldiery (at least in dress uniform) was blinged to the moon; a trend that's pretty much gone away entirely these days, and isn't remotely likely to return.
Thanks! I haven't heard from you in a while, but I've seen some of your recent work; I'd say you're even further than me. :D
Thanks :) I'll admit I picked my palette on the fly though so I'm pretty grateful that it doesn't look terrible.
Yeah, the horse's head looked ok... before I added the background. Well, there were still some issues with it, mostly due to me having never drawn/sprited a horse's head before.
Oh you've got to be kidding me- THAT song? Awesome.
I think this is a great piece, but it could do with more readability/contrast in the composition.
wow the elephant looks great. It looks unfinished in areas, but overall, very cool
Liking the colors on this one
