Thanks!!
As I say, I was only trying to figure out how many pixels I need to make something. I want to explore this kind of images, so more will come. About animation... I don't do animation yet... still learning Y__Y
Don't worry if you need to remove it!!! As I say, is an experiment. I'll work more in this line, so there will be more of these, perhaps a sheet with a bunch of pieces, or an scene.
Thanks a lot for your attention!!!
I think the same about the cig, but I did not want to make the monkey bigger ^__^ About the tail... well, is a chimpancee so... no tail at all!!! I would like to see an animation too, but I don't know to do animation. Perhaps my work pal can!!! I'll ask him!
The cig is too big imo. No Tail. I would like to see a walking animation though!
This is just my opinion, but I'd prefer to either see them in some kind of environment, or just like this on their own. Not that big of a fan of a whole bunch of little stuff on a sheet, unless the individual units interact with each other or something. : )
Also, I'd really like to see this animated. I do like this piece, but I think I'd really adore it in motion. Plus, it would really make it that much clearer that the monkey is holding a cigarette -- I actually couldn't tell what it was and thought it was supposed to be some kind of gun or something.
@CELS, All art is a judgement call. Sometimes we make mistakes. Here, as you say, its awesome and when mixed with the delibaration and pixel level goal of jae17 pushes it over the line in quality, for me at least. I will admit sometimes these size pixelarts are tougher to make and judge than more elaborate pieces.
Naturally, if enough PJ members freak out about it and report and stuff we may have to revisit...I can't see why that would happen tho.
@jae17, to be extra safe regarding these miniature pieces you are considering making many off. Maybe its best to save them as you make them and then submit on a single sheet???
I was curious to see if this would be added. I didn't vote either way. I think the image itself is awesome. But I also think it would be a hundred times better to insert this tiny dude into a larger piece. Maybe after a while, you can combine all your tiny images into a whole. :)
Thanks a lot for that kind comment! I think I'm trying to work in this line (the little the better), and make more images like that, aiming to a more beautiful result, not only a "monkey that you could understand" ^___^
Just in case anyone is wondering why this is added to the gallery.
The goal here, as stated, is 'How little can I make some image, and still understand it?'. This clearly indicates a goal of precise pixel placement and as that is one of the most important thing in pixelart creation the piece merits inclusion... It does look like a monkey so mission is accomplished.
I voted no, personally. No offense, I just don't think it's something to put in your gallery. Maybe a practice piece, or a little doo-dad to be submitted with other doo-dads in a bulk submission, but not as a completed gallery work.
also don't forget how much space outlines take up at this size. makes the cigarette look like a small log.
