Moving it up a bit might distance it more fro the body and make the illusion clearer, I think. :)

 I quite likehow the colours pop, but I think the highlight around his neck on the collar may be too strong? 

It wasn't until I zoomed in taht I noticed the head had to be afloat like it is, since the brightness of the highlight + the brightness of the "orb / body" merges too much together. I also think the arm may need some stronger outline since the lines disappear in the cape completely.

It is a good piece composition-wise, though! The swirls in the background add a nice touch against the stark black. 

hmm I didnt realise that one could see it that way as well. I'l keep that in mind next time.

I love this. Fantastic design. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the mouth. It looks good with a 3x zoom, but the bottom lip looks like teeth from a 1x view. Maybe it's just me.
