The detailing on the machinery-piece looks wicked!

Coooool! As cure said this could be done with many, many less colours (if you want the hues in there consider a few detailing indexes rather than a whole ramp) but it's still nice work.
here it is with seven colors, and no noticeable loss of any real detail. the greener colors weren't really necessary since they're impossible to see unless you know that they're there, and some colors were really close in value, or only used for a few pixels.
