For the weekly challenge to make a new and original platformer. Decided to take platformers vertical. In the game, you tap the run button to keep running up a building and press jump to push yourself outwards and up to get past obstacles such as windows and satellite dishes. If you hit and obstacle or slow down too much, you leap from the building and plummet to the ground below to check your score.

Had fun with this, especially the expression on his face. Took a while to come up with the idea, though.

Credit goes to Dawnbringer for a great palette. Although I didn't use the two greens.

EDIT: Updated with a girl in the window, a bird in the sky and some power lines on the building. And I got rid of a yellow so I'm down to 13 colors.

If you had programmed that you would be rich like the guy that created the Ipod game =D.

Ha, nice. But nah, came up with this all by myself :)

ninja something. Its a guy that runs up and he can jump from one wall to another to avoid monsters. Its pretty nice =D

Which iPod game? But no, because I don't have an iPod.

Oh! I finally realise what you mean now! I can't believe I didn't see that before! I know what you mean now, although now its too late as the challenge has ended :(
I might go back and fix it eventually though.

Better! +1 for the effort. =)

btw I was not suggesting you cover the whole wall in bricks, just getting your attention on the fact that bricks are never stacked the way you did, rows are shifted. There must be a better word, can't find it, sorry.

 Good!

@ Manupix, Thanks. I tried to follow your advice as best I could. I added shadows under the windows, put a girl watching, a bird in the sky and power lines on the building but that's as much as I could do without cluttering the piece. And as for the brick texture, call it a personal choice but I like what I've done with it. I feel as though if I were to texture the entire building in brick, it would just give the viewer a massive headache with the amount of close lines.

@ Jalonso, I tried your idea too, but I couldn't figure out how to make the rest look simpler. It was surprisingly hard to reverse the detail I had done.

@EpicChicken, Thankyou, it means a lot.

i really like im not that good at spriting yet like jalonso and manupix because i dont know how to improve it but really good and i like the stylr off it all. :)

Yea, the idea is great. I agree with Manupix but maybe also its the player and interior of the room that needs less pixelling so it matches the simple style.

Clever idea. I'd play this ;)

That wall could use more attractive color, more and better detail and textures. Brick layers alternate, in a variety of ways. Do the windows open outwards? Then they should cast shadows. Add flower pots, cats, clothes lines, birds, grit, vents, people watching, etc.
