the characters are hard to see, because they blend with the background. The little soldier especially.
Might wanna add a bit of an outline.
Yeah, that's the exact thing I thought when I saw this: Gods. The ladder is quite similar.
Look at the size of that cyclops! The soldier won't stand a chance!
Reminds me a bit of that Bitmap Bros game, "Gods." Very pleasantly rendered with practical use of tiling.
Pretty nice! Love the setting and all the little details you put in.
You might want to make the character a little darker, though, since it took me a moment to spot him.
I like a lot of the pixelling itself but I can't help wondering if it could benefit from some different color choices. The tiles for one look a bit washed out and too pink (or maybe it's called salmon?) which kinda brings down any kind of cool battle atmosphere The clouds on the other hand stand out too much due to their contrast and the very obvious dithering and jaggedness. Overall though I think it looks very good. I just feel it could look superb with just a few tweaks.
Nice work surt! However I do agree with Ptoing, and did not even notice there was a skeleton until I read that comment. How about adding a black outline around the sprites? It is an easy way to solve readability issues in situations where the background is just as bright as the foreground!
Nice & quite "Gods"-y :) Interesting to see a piece based around the pink color. I would prefer if the background walls/tunnels had a sliver of darker shadows to enhance the depth...but then the sprites would definitely need some more contrast. The dither on the urns seem redundant.

Although I have to agree with previous comments: a bit noisy, sprites hard to see. Derek's position exactly along the temple edge is an unfortunate composition option too.
This image looks best at 1x according to my vision.
This looks good. Looks more like Megadrive or Amiga tho, instead of SNES.
Also I think the sprites coulduse some more contrast compared to the bg, esp the player and that skeleton.
You finished it! And it doesn't look like Altered Beast anymore! :D
What I like about this mockup is that it looks like an actual screenshot. With a BIT too much dihtering for a static image, but it would probably be unnoticeable while playing :)
(also the health/mana draining in opposite directions is kinda weird )
