The water needs to be lighter, I can't really see the samurai through it.

I really like the building and your main character, though, they look awesome!

true, a black outline would help.

Brilliant, very old school. I just wish the player character didn't blend into the background like that. Some kind of outline or exaggerated contrast would help.
