Please, PM me if this is meant to be an entry for this week's challenge so it can be added (before Sunday deadline).
You didn't check the challenge option so I am unsure.
I agree with CELS about the light. Blame that ref you used ;)
Cast shadows (mostly from the holder on the table) would greatly help.
This is however very well pixelled, the flame and the metal are very convincing.
Some areas have noisy textures: mostly the candle (it has no obvious volume), also the holder bottom and wood.
k so i spent some time on the candle and i think i tried everything lol not sure if it looks a bit too clutterd?
:) thanks for your comments, true ill see what i can do with the candle. and maybe might do some animation for the flame ^^
This is beautiful, especially at 2X
I agree with SumYunGai that it looks a bit flat, and I would say that goes for the entire piece. It looks like the candle isn't the main light source, because everything is equally bright, instead of being brighter near the flame and darker further away. I would also make the texture of the candle itself slightly less rough, and try to highlight single drops and streams of candle wax.
The candle holder and fire turned out great, but I think the candle itself needs more depth and shading. As of now, it's just textured.
Man! Thats great. Like from old good RPG game)
