really diggin this! love the plasic look of the dino coat and the overall shininess.
Love the atmospheric perspective in both screens. The sprites pop and the shapes read well. I'm not convinced the main character looks like he belongs in that world, though.
This is awesome . I totally like this dragon with a hoody.
hrhr~ obey! -
lovely. I dig the maincharacter - and the skyline is just gorgeous <3
and a funny concept too, reminds me of the Blob, or that one skating game released last year? (not sure... forgot the name)
Great mockup! :) I've had a go at reducing the colours from 128 to 64 and as you can see there isn't much difference and no loss in detail. :) imgur.com/eKCXE
It's important to make daltonian safe game, I agree. Originally this game was designed to be all grey. Grey levels, grey units. Everything regain color when you successfully beat the level.
It's just that I didn't get to the stage where I would've check this properly. I decided to make colour version, because it's easier to go this way on to greyscale. The project is currently on hold, but when I resume it, I'll definitelly turn it grey and fix readability issue. After all, you'll be playing it this way most of the time.
yes but there a problem : does this "game" is daltonian safe ? i mean : the color would make an hard time for daltonian gamer, i remember that when my father tried to play a game, he can't find where is the main character of the game because he can only see greyscale... :/
Great mockups, everythings done so well, cityscape, trees and characters it all adds up to great looking scenes!
I actually disagree with the others on the need to reduce your colors down to anywhere near 32. At this point everything looks lively and lifelike; if you start making things share a lot of shades, I'm sure it'll lose that enticing pop. Real-life has a lot of colors, and this is done in a style that benefits from a larger palette.
it's an interesting pixel art you actually did :D also, like the other said, it need some optimisation for the palette, our trick is to use 3 shades per color like : dark red, red and bright red. this way, you can use the same color for anything for example : you can use the grey color on the ground for the buildings on the left. or still the blue color from windows for the distants buildings. try to think this way, i'm sure you will manage to reduce them drastically ! :D
I love the buildings! Also, you could have pulled this off with 32 colors or less :)
wow, that's really cute ! ^^ personally i like the style pretty much : )
This is so good, but I agree with DawnBringer. 1286 is just wayy too much.
Agree with Arkan85, also i like the guys, dont know about that dinosaur! LOL
Ah, it's that stars, numbers and text are not handpixeled. I forgot to re-do them. -_-
It may be pretty but 1286 colors is way too much even for a two screen mockup.
When you finish a single project to the end or will accept the decision to develop together?
The stance that those sunglass guys have... so fierce, so powerful, so 1337. Fave.
