Using opaque pixels one can make the glow effect you had with the semi transparent colors and I was hoping you'd make that choice instead of removing the glow.

You're new and maybe unaware. Semi transparent pixels are not allowed in the gallery. All pixels must be opaque and transparency is cool for overall background only.
