I'm used to paint, yeah. I haven't quite gotten used to all the palette tools from Grafx2
@Chrispy: are you using paint or something? sounds pain-staking.
From grafx2's palette menu, you can view the palette used on the piece, and reduce the amount of colors used to something workable, then manually improve it from there. you can also use the pj:specs page to see the colors used.
What I do is just fill in the background with a defferent color, like Black, and remove all the AA colors slowly from there
Thanks for the tips guys!
I see what you guys mean, I wasn't happy with a lot of the shades myself but couldn't find ones I thought suited.
Is there anyway to find out what colours are where so I can edit?
Just going from looks would be impossible.
The aa around the face and mane line is particularly bad. Not the right color at all but I tried to find better ones and failed.
I believe that this is an original piece, but I am reluctant to vote for its inclusion into the gallery because, well, 62 colors is far too many for a piece of pixel art this size. It is severely over-AA'd. A few minutes worth of color-correction could save you about 50 colors and would probably make this piece look even better!
The lion is cute and looks like the one from the video. It'd be nice to see this animated.
The colors could be controlled a lot better though. There's a lot of colors that are so similar that I can't tell the difference between them. For example, there's one pixel on the outline of the forehead that has the RGB values of 255, 191, 72. The pixel right below that is 255, 194, 81. The numbers are only a few points different and the colors are so similar that they look identical on my screen. There's 62 colors right now and you should be able to cut that amount down to 1/3rd without this really looking any different.
It's not a reduction, made 100% by hand.
It is 4 days work.
I can guarantee it's mine.
Hi. You have 62 colors rigth now (http://hivemind.in/pj/specs/index.php?urls=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pixeljoint.com%2Ffiles%2Ficons%2Ffull%2Fkenyan_lion.png)
I thinks there's too many similar colors to control them properly by hand.
Ok, I'm working on two more versions, one with limited aa the other with none.
