Thanks for the support then, it's a morale booster. :D
I am being supportive and favoriting this. Very few pieces make it to my collection. Wait that almost sounded sarcastic.
That looks pretty damn interesting. Need to check this out now. O_O
Hey, green, take a look at this. It's a comic book. "Leonardo - Blind Sight". It's a TMNT special. Most of the comic is done using only sillouettes. It is fucking awesome. The readability on it is GREAT. I think you could learn something from it (IF you stop being lazy).
Go find a perfectly legal download of it somewhere. =P
the readbility is REALLY low on these, not to mention said ilkke sprites are heavilly dependant on a fixed background due their high demand of contrast. that is something you'd realise if you were looking foward to imitate a piece's aesthetics, rather than use it as a excuse to develop something easy.
In order to imitate iLKke's style better there needs to be a background, which I did by the way.
The inventor is holding a shield, I thought the shape was pretty obvious. And his legs aren't crooked, he's walking.
You're not supposed to know what the theif looks like, he's covering himself in his shroud, that's the whole point of a thief. It wasn't easy to not make him look like a blob.
The wizard's staff is a tree branch essentually. I tried a straight stiff rod, didn't like the way it looked. So I tried to give it a more organic feel.
As for the healing, yeah she did kinda turn out like a zombie a little.
this style is nice, but lacked many details, if put at least a few colors would bebetter
Next time try harder to imitate iLKke. He uses great lines and shapes to create cool characters, and every detail is readable. That is not really the case in here: the shapes are not as pretty (use more straight lines), they are not pixel perfect (what is this bump on the mages left side of the robe?) and they are not perfectly readable (what is the inventor holding and why are his legs so crooky? What does the thief look like, and what is he doing? Why does the healer look like a zombie in the wind and what kind of weird shaped wand is the mage holding? )
As usual: Think about what you draw! It looks more like you close your eyes and doodle. For extra lazyness you choose to imitate someone who uses flat colored icons..

Well the interesting factor goes to iLKke, I'm just imitating. (Again.)
transparency separates the characters from the background, not from one another. I think it's pretty obvious what the rule means. besides, this method only adds hideous banding anyway.
Their outlines are transparent, hence the italicization.
I'd prefer to keep it as is, as it technically follows the rules. But I can easily swap it with the other one if it becomes a big deal.
Cool! I'd like to see them animated; even more to play a game starring them.
