I love this! =)
The long shadows are generally good, since they're mostly shadows of one candle cast by another.
Some should be angled towards the back though, esp on the right side.
Also another light effect would enormously help: the patches of ground directly nearest to flames should be much brighter, esp for the short candle at lower right which seems to be floating. Remember brightness is inversely proportional to distance squared!
I can't be bothered to find an appropriate ref but I'm sure you'll get one easily ;)
@Miumau0 Oh...should have used a reference for this ): Oh well, i really don't think it looks that bad as it is now though when i find time i guess i could edit the shadows here and there. Thanks for the help!
@Everyone else Thanks everyone!
But candles dont cast shadows like that. Heres image shwing what I mean: http://www.topwallpaper4u.com/var/albums/miscellaneous-2045002068/Warm-Candlelight/img_0245.jpg?m=1292098077
The lightsource is on top of the cadle, so the shadow cant be so long.
Otherwise very nice piece :)
When i saw the previwe, i thought you're Jinn.
But this is too nice like his
I think it is a lot better :) but that is my opinion. I think you adjusted the flame to a perfect brightness now.
it's a very pretty piece, but I don't think the flames have enough "pop" to them. I think the light should be more stark
Very pretty! the aa and dithering really serve their purpose in strategic places. I especially like the use of green and blue on the shadowing. Very simple design but very affective.
Ohhh this is quite beautiful in a simple yet not simple way XD
