I'm a sucker for nerdish stuff =)
I wish the 'probe' was a bit more obvious, for both concept and art readability.
Voted.
I'm not sure if it's intended or not, but I think it would look better if you smoothened the transition between the red and blue halves. The outer space effect is well-done, though!
EDIT: I am a moron and I didn't realize it was for th weekly challenge! My comment about the transition isn't that relevant in this case.
I thought, in terms of stars, that blues were hotter than reds and yellows?
Very pretty!
Black holes/wormholes are considered time machines, right? Maybe that's what the thing in the center can be.
Not intentionally. Not sure which would be expanding faster so chances are it wouldn't fit anyway.
Just red = hot, blue = cold; and white dwarves are generally depicted with a bluish flare so red for the coalescing and annihilating hadrons should be a good counter.
Pretty much, but I was going for a Fresnel reflection type effect, which as you can see didn't really work.
I like it a lot. But is the probe supposed to look like a black pearl, reflecting its environment? If so, it's not quite working for me. It just looked like a warped black hole in the middle, untill I zoomed in. Never the less, it's great stuff.
Excellent work.
