Yeah the columns were a challenge to get the fluting (Hey, I learned a new word too!) visible and the lighting on it looking half-ways right. I tried to use the dither for intermediary shades but as you can see it didn't really work. I'll try reworking them.
I know it desperately needs cast shadows, but none of the other tilesets have them so this would look out of place with them. ![]()
Whoa! I love this! Wonderful palette =)
Nitpicks:
- the dithering of the columns interferes with their grooves*. They might look better without.
- the vertical stairs at center are not obviously readable because of the way they end at the top. I guess you tried to show the correct persp for the angle of two sides of stairs, but it just doesn't work.
- more cast shadows are needed, mostly of the columns and buildings on the ground. I'm aware this would seriously affect the tiling :(
- maybe a bit of wear on the flat bue surfaces?
*: flutes. I learned something today =)
in my opiniron the bblue at the front wall (not the columns) seems to be unfinished.
the building need more depth. Tiles are nice but mapping could use some work.
Nice...nice... The only thing I can really point out is a confusing perspective...
This reminds me of the style of DOS games somehow. I like this a lot.
