Welcome to the 8-coulour Gentleman's Club, Mr.Uburur. (do a search for '8cc' on pixeljoint)

If you want you can add a 8cc tag to this piece yourself. Cheers!

 While i feel that the ghosts should be more "hidden" in this challenge, i feel that your piece has a wonderful atmosphere, is well pixeled, and it seems to tell a story of sadness and a slow slide into corruption.

It's awesome, but is quietly awesome.

Well done!

@CELS:
Both of 'em are my own.

user
CELS (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 11/1/2011 14:12

This is superb. Instant favorite. I like the style.

Is this a reference to a known movie or book or something, or is it just purely drawn from your own imagination?

user
uburur (Level 1 Depressed) @ 10/31/2011 21:01

@Mathias:
Im so jealous. I tried to buy a horse skull from a vet place a while back but it was kinda expensive and other vices pilfered my funds.

@<all>:
Thanks again for feedback. Im super stoked to hear the piece is being generally well recieved.
I'll be sure to revisit this and work on the piece further when I get the opportunity.

(I hope every one had a great Samhain <3 )

 And don't even THINK about letting me catch you using a flood-fill tool...

user
Paxjah (Level 4 Mercenary) @ 10/31/2011 06:37

 I wish you'd seen the challenge sooner too, this has a lot of room for improvement, but as it is.. the rough painted look is still a winner. This definitely gets my vote :)

user
reis (Level 6 Serial Killer) @ 10/31/2011 04:59

 Omg!!

user
Balamoot (Level 10 Maniac) @ 10/31/2011 04:52

Grim, and that's awesome!

user
Mathias (Level 5 Rokkyu) @ 10/31/2011 03:48

Ahhh ok.

*removes feyincognito from ninja assassin hit-list*

Further, on-topic, this peice is tragically rough/unfinished. Too bad.

user
Hapiel (Level 11 Admiral) @ 10/31/2011 02:58

You definitely got my vote! Awesome drawing!

user
lolyogurt (Level 3 Stalker) @ 10/31/2011 02:20

Yup, badass is the word :) The skull is awesome and he works pretty well as is.

user
JuninFC (Level 2 Hired Gun) @ 10/31/2011 01:43

very good! But it seems unfinished

user
Gecimen (Level 11 Master Assassin) @ 10/31/2011 00:41
@Jeremy; rofl that made my day already :)
@the piece; this is my winner. I think I like the rough look. But some shading issues can be improved. The clothes look flat. Anyhow, there's no better piece in the in the challenge.

user
feyincognito (Level 3 Corporate Drone) @ 10/30/2011 22:54

No! I actually wasn't trying to imply that at all! I was really just kind of saying that I thought it would have looked better if the background hadn't looked like it was drawn with a paintbrush; if uburur had cleaned some of the larger lines and made it look more like the bit of dappled bg that you can see on the left. Sorry to anyone who got that impression.

user
jeremy (Level 11 Special Agent) @ 10/30/2011 22:51

Mathias, don't you pixel binarily, starting from the top left pixel? Weirdo.

Love this, would be great to see it polished after the challenge voting ends. Also do more coloured stuff :)

user
Mathias (Level 5 Rokkyu) @ 10/30/2011 22:20

Ok . . . are you really implying that using brushes larger than 1px is some sort of retarded elitist violation? Wow . . .

Love the goat skull. I happen to have a real one in my room. I cut the goat's head off myself and even removed the flesh from it. And it's painted bright pink.

I'll just be going now . . .

user
dumbo (Level 4 Mercenary) @ 10/30/2011 21:49

I see art completely here! VERY WELL DONE!!!

user

well badass piece regardless, very creepy

 weekly showvase for sure.

user
uburur (Level 1 Depressed) @ 10/30/2011 18:48

@surt @bobowitzbob @darth mandarb :
Lots of luv guys, thanks for the feedback.

user
uburur (Level 1 Depressed) @ 10/30/2011 18:45

@cure:
I understand your point, I would have liked more time to go over everything, but (not intending to sound like a cop-out) time won this round :\
But I do like my composition and think I did an adequate job creating focal points on the faces even if it meant sacrificing some other stuff

@feyincognito:
Bg was done with a 2px brush, I dont think a 3-colour dithered blur would look better, but I could be wrong. Everything else is 1px brush.

user
surt (Level 11 Godfather) @ 10/30/2011 18:28

Great image. With that final polish it'll be perfection.

user
bobowitzbob (Level 4 Team Leader) @ 10/30/2011 18:26

Great pixelling!

user
Darth Mandarb (Level 10 Operative) @ 10/30/2011 18:09

 I dig the "unfinished" feel!  It just gives it extra style!

LOVE that goat-headed specter!

user
cure (Level 11 Godfather) @ 10/30/2011 17:43

yeah, it looks nice, but it's still a bit rough. I start my images the same way, in a loose, more painterly style. this may be refined enough for the gallery, but it isn't at a point that I personally would consider 'finished' (deadlines, deadlines)

user
feyincognito (Level 3 Corporate Drone) @ 10/30/2011 16:58

 I may be ENTIRELY off-base, but parts of this - the background especially and some of the shading - look like they were drawn using a medium-sized paintbrush, instead of being placed pixel by pixel.
