Welcome to the 8-coulour Gentleman's Club, Mr.Uburur. (do a search for '8cc' on pixeljoint)
If you want you can add a 8cc tag to this piece yourself. Cheers!
While i feel that the ghosts should be more "hidden" in this challenge, i feel that your piece has a wonderful atmosphere, is well pixeled, and it seems to tell a story of sadness and a slow slide into corruption.
It's awesome, but is quietly awesome.
Well done!
This is superb. Instant favorite. I like the style.
Is this a reference to a known movie or book or something, or is it just purely drawn from your own imagination?
@Mathias:
Im so jealous. I tried to buy a horse skull from a vet place a while back but it was kinda expensive and other vices pilfered my funds.
@<all>:
Thanks again for feedback. Im super stoked to hear the piece is being generally well recieved.
I'll be sure to revisit this and work on the piece further when I get the opportunity.
(I hope every one had a great Samhain <3 )
And don't even THINK about letting me catch you using a flood-fill tool...
I wish you'd seen the challenge sooner too, this has a lot of room for improvement, but as it is.. the rough painted look is still a winner. This definitely gets my vote :)
Ahhh ok.

Further, on-topic, this peice is tragically rough/unfinished. Too bad.
Yup, badass is the word :) The skull is awesome and he works pretty well as is.
No! I actually wasn't trying to imply that at all! I was really just kind of saying that I thought it would have looked better if the background hadn't looked like it was drawn with a paintbrush; if uburur had cleaned some of the larger lines and made it look more like the bit of dappled bg that you can see on the left. Sorry to anyone who got that impression.
Mathias, don't you pixel binarily, starting from the top left pixel? Weirdo.
Love this, would be great to see it polished after the challenge voting ends. Also do more coloured stuff :)
Ok . . . are you really implying that using brushes larger than 1px is some sort of retarded elitist violation? Wow . . .
Love the goat skull. I happen to have a real one in my room. I cut the goat's head off myself and even removed the flesh from it. And it's painted bright pink.
I'll just be going now . . .
@surt @bobowitzbob @darth mandarb :
Lots of luv guys, thanks for the feedback.
@cure:
I understand your point, I would have liked more time to go over everything, but (not intending to sound like a cop-out) time won this round :\
But I do like my composition and think I did an adequate job creating focal points on the faces even if it meant sacrificing some other stuff
@feyincognito:
Bg was done with a 2px brush, I dont think a 3-colour dithered blur would look better, but I could be wrong. Everything else is 1px brush.
Great image. With that final polish it'll be perfection.
I dig the "unfinished" feel! It just gives it extra style!
LOVE that goat-headed specter!
yeah, it looks nice, but it's still a bit rough. I start my images the same way, in a loose, more painterly style. this may be refined enough for the gallery, but it isn't at a point that I personally would consider 'finished' (deadlines, deadlines)
I may be ENTIRELY off-base, but parts of this - the background especially and some of the shading - look like they were drawn using a medium-sized paintbrush, instead of being placed pixel by pixel.
god this atmosphere !!
One of the most impressive pieces i've seen on pixeljoint !
