@Gecimen & Crozier,
Generally when I think of caves, I think of emptiness.
I do have some creatures and playable sprites, But I prefer to showcase only the environment itself. I could have added in more features to it, but I think it's cluttered enough as is.
Also, yes I made the background.
Intresting tilework. A little empty though.
And you also did the background image, yes?
In response to the comments about similarity to Frogatto:
I can see where the comparision to frogatto is coming from, it is somewhat similar, we both use fairly abstract palletes. However, I haven't ever played frogatto, that is until now. Mine was somewhat inspired by Henk's works in caves, but I took a simpler approuch to it, given a shortage of time. (http://www.pixinspace.com/)
Reminds me of Frogatto too, but it certainly doesn't look ripped or edited, and I'm sure Jetel would know if it was. Reminding one of Frogatto just means that this rocks like Frogatto does.
(re: arikel's statement, given that I made the tiles in frogatto) If it is in any way inspired, by all means, I don't mind. It's not like I haven't been inspired by other people, myself. I can't tell, honestly; the general tile size and shapes are quite similar, but other than that it's drawn from scratch.
People can get way, way too psycho about avoiding plagarism. It's really not possible to be truly unique, since unless you were born blind, you will have influence from having seen other work. Trying too hard to enforce it is crippling enough that I've seen it ruin some artists. If you're really truly trying to avoid being like anything out there, there's not much you can get done.
With regards to arikel's post, see this screenshot or maybe even this one.
Very nice. This immediately reminded me of Frogatto's caves ( www.frogatto.com ), has this game been an inspiration in any way?
