Why don't you put the original 100x100 as preview? :)
Anyway, nice job! Not sure about the #486F74 in the beard tho.
Thanks guys. :)
@Souly, Drazelic: Yeah, that hand is darn awkward, now that you mention it. Should be a relatively easy fix, thankfully. Thanks for pointing that out.
@Jetrel Believe me, I spent almost an hour yesterday just playing around with the palette, trying to find the right color for speculars on top of c64c19. But everything I tried ended up looking like a bright patch floating on top of the image rather than giving me the cohesive flow I wanted. :$ I'll try playing around with it some more before the deadline though... my inexperience with preset palettes is showing.
That's an impressive solution to filling that awkward canvas shape (for posterity, said canvas shape, and a forced palette, is the nature of the challenge).
I'd echo drazelic's comment on the hand.
Also, for your edification, I'd suggest trying out some "seemingly illegal" specular choices on those robes. Well, "try" them, but ... ouch, this pallette IS hard. I poked around with some 95787a -> ab9a6e -> e7ae5d speculars on top of the c64c19. It's not nearly as subtle as I'd like. :/
I have no idea what's going on with the hand that's not pointing a finger out, but otherwise it's pretty cool! I might get rid of the red shadows on the white clothing if I were you, though.
