While the detail is superb, I think that the background could've used a few more details like clouds to cover the large open patches of blue.
I like how open the area is and how tall the trees are in addition to the awesome spritework in general.
The depth this piece has is really lovely. I can just imagine staring down a hill standing next to that tree and seeing a beautiful valley landscape.
Love the colors. The ground is quite neat and the trees are individualy pretty nice as well, though, the perspective isn't the best haha. Still, I'd defenetly play a game with characters and a world like this, especially with these colors.
I like it, almost all of it. The perspective is off between the background and the foreground, but that may be the way of RPGs.
Love the colours! Love everything! The onliy crit would be the "gap" between back- and foreground. A little more bushes inbetween? I'm going to pick out 8 and make something with this! You handle 65 better than I ever could.
This is probably the greatest combination of colors I have seen on a pixel piece ever. This is just amazing.
It's so beautiful. I could honestly stare at this for hours.
Thank you epoxy, that is exactly the atmosphere I was going for!
Woop_Woop: I agree with you that the characters are lost in the mockup. I'll try to address this with the next mockup if I get around to one. (btw: your name is really fun to type xD)
Drazelic: Yeah I would add some AA to it, but if I did I wouldn't have the flexibility of using it like I would as a layer. I could probably find a way to make that a less rough transition with the sky though! well, at least in some places.
Surreal and beautiful!
I like the way the characters are utterly dwarfed by the environment, especially by the equisitely-detailed trees. Many otherwise-great video games lack an omnipresent reminder that "this world is huge compared to you." That message is crucial to making an experience feel like an adventure, so it's pleasant to hear/see it loud and clear here.
The trees look brilliant! I love the misty look. I think however that the characters are lost within the lovely scenery. Overall, I think it is great!
oh man the colors here are awesome
all the trees need instead of outlines are maybe some minor antialiasing with the sky, i think
Super 17: Haha yup! I wanted to put that tree trunk to good use!
SpaceSalmon/Adam: Outlines off! Thanks for that critique! It looks much better now :D
You recycled "A breath in the forest of life"? Haha, nice
Great pixel work but I agree that the trees look flat. You should have had the light in the middle and shadow on the outsides, since they are round. Also outlines are bullshit, especially on the trees. why even have outlines ?
I really admire the front tree's body texture. The piece is awesome overall. Let's see if we can get this to monthly top.
A real beauty! Though personally I don't like the separation of the fore- and background there that much.
This is all kinds of awesome. But the trees look very flat because of the way you've faded them out. Other than that, it's flawless.
Really nice colors !
