Actually, I find adding a simple background around a central figure a really quick process. Just add a little border space and then fill it, it should not be too detailed and compete with the figure anyhow.

If I were in the proper position, I would pay you large sums of money to design & pixel a whole set of characters like this. Again, a great design and beautiful palette there!

Rayovatron: You're completely right, and I've been trying to fix it whilst still showing the face of the dragon, but I guess it's just unsuccessful. That was definitely one of the major problems I had. :(

Dawnbringer: Yep, there are some inconsistancies with the lighting that I'm really not proud of, but the snout color is really a tone, not a shade if that helps my case. :P
