Well, a few months back I made a ff6-ish styled sort of lovecraftian horror (http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/60944.htm).  This is a sort of continuation of that theme; I sketched out the vague outline for it one weekend shortly after the previous sprite when I was pretty tired, and I finished it yesterday when I was also pretty tired.  Seems about perfect.  Also continuing with the previous theme, I've made a nicely irrelevant squiddles preview.
It is done in sort of ff6-ish style to fit with a CC-By licensed set that I've been slowly developing (see the rest here:  http://opengameart.org/content/side-on-pixel-art-rpg-enemy-sprites).  I think I may develop a fuller set of these horrorterrors eventually.  We'll see.
