Mhyre has a point, although his edit isn't accurate either: the cake would cast a shadow on the table.
Considering the simple geometric style, I'd say skip it anyway.
I understand why you wanted a diagonal opposite to the stripes. You might make it into something else: a decoration, a knife?
You should probably get rid of outlines too.
The light around the flame is okay, but there is still lighting issue on the cake and the table. There is no apparent light source that would make such diagonal shadow, and even if there was, the candle would still light it up some more. Your diagonal shadow would kinda work if the candle was in the top-right corner of the cake, or even behind it.

My light may look kinda wrong, but looking at the background behind the candle, I suppose it's a dark room. You don't light that much candles in the daylight anyway :p
Aren't candles supposed to light all the space around them? You obviously have light issues here. Go on and fix that, would you ;) ?
