Weekly Challenge: Old Dead Tree
That is some original pixel style ! (Note: make sure to try to steal it later on :] )
Thanks for the feedback Super17. I think I'll go back and fix it up after the contest( I assume I'm not supposed to edit a contest piece while judging is going on).
I really like the tree itself and the lightning, but it also seems unfinished to me. And the backgrounds seems kind of random. As Manupix said, it looked better at an earlier stage.
Nice one! Strange that it doesn't look that polished but it really fits the scene!
If this were just a tad more refined, it could be an awesome album cover
Thanks for the comments everyone! I think there are a few areas I missed cleaning up. I'm glad some of you like the rough style I usually like my pixel stuff chunky.(Also how I like my peanut butter 
) But I think there are definitely areas I need to learn to refine.

Actually it's not that rough, if you look closely, it's just too busy. Everything sticks out of everywhere but on the whole the piece is very deep and enchanting to watch. Good job and voted...
Esta árvore me parece muito colorida e alegre, para estar morta. Mas enfim, o pixel-art está épico.
I agree the 'roughness' rather suits the foreground, but the bg is too busy/noisy and competes with the main subject matter. That's what needs polishing. Lovely palette.
Edit: the early bg versions in the wip are what I'd love to see!

Hard to read what the piece is about without zooming in, but the palette is amazing!
I like this a lot and particularly the rough feel to it like Slym said.
I disagree, I think the rougher feel to it makes it more interesting of a style. It's a bold approach to pixel art. I like it a lot :D

If you learned to polish things a bit more...your art could become awesome.
