The major focus of pixel art that makes it different from other digital art is to have purposeful control over an image at a pixel level by working at that level. It allows us to have a level of detail and crispness in an image not otherwise possible at a small scale. Control over the pixels involves both their placement and their color, so pixel art has a heavy focus on choosing your palette. There's no set amount of colors that's the limit, but generally the fewer colors you use to get the same result the more you show control over your palette.

Your pixel placement here actually seems pretty good, there's just a lot more colors than there needs to be. Here's an example of two colors you're using here, one on the top half and the other on the bottom- link. They're so similar that even in large amounts it's nearly impossible to tell the difference, and when they're just used as a few pixels here and there then you might as well use one color instead of both.

Since this is a fairly simple image that has two major groups of colors, hair and skintone, you should be able to get that with just a few colors for each major group and a few more for whatever colors don't fall in those groups, like the eyes. A total of 20-30 colors should be plenty for that.

Here's a helpful beginning tutorial - link - and a thread with a lot of information about palette creation- link

Yes you are correct this is for the game Graal. I am fairly new to pixel art so please explain to me how I would use less colors for the same effect? Also why is using less colors more appropriate to this image?

She's very cute. I like the expression that's the 6th up from the bottom. I don't know a lot about this, but I think this is for a game called graal right?

edit- I just noticed that you have 125 colors, according to this. That's extremely excessive for something like this. Maybe you weren't using 100% opacity with your pencil tool for this? It'd only be 74 colors if it wasn't animated, but even still those 74 can be reduced down to 20 with nearly no visual difference.
