I mean the pixels are banded together in many places, which is something to avoid in pixel art. See Cure's tutorial in the forum stickied in resources for and in-depth description of banding.
I will pull the back part of the road on the left out a bit too.. thanks for pointing that out.
thats your choice man, but I didnt understand what you said about my avatar.
Well I like the colors in the water, as shared colors they seem to work well throughout the image.
Banding in your avatar is not good.
The sea palette is not good, i just understand It water after looking for it a lot.
edit, what is that in the preview looks confusing =/
perspective in the bot left road is not good.
You're right, tall pixels are 1x2 size (double height) pixels.
The naive look of this piece covers great values. It reminds me of surrealistic paintings with bent roads and cranes.
Hehe much better.
I find your use of high contrast dither and noise textures quite jarring. I could never do that, I'm very contrast shy.
The original is lovely. Not sure why you're showing the tall pixels as the main attraction and putting the original in the description. I'd do it the other way around.
I don't even know what tall pixels are... Not doubled in hieght I take it?
Should I not have doubled it? I did work on it in a normal ratio.. but then, messing around before I finished it, I doubled it vertically and liked it. I just thought it had more impact tall. I could re upload if this is a bad attempt at tall pixels.
I lost track of time spent on this.
Slym I'm ||||! Nice to meet you, I recognize you.
Why is this stretched? It obviously wasn't drawn for this pixel geometry.
Very nice!
But, why on earth did you upload it at double height like that? Looks like a crazy attempt at tall pixels.
How many hours ya got in this?
It reminds me of these old futuristic posters with its accentuated architecture and its basic geometric shapes. The palette fits that style just fine.
Of course, it requires a differentiated approach, to recognize that. Nice work.
