Nice remix bringing back sweet memories... (and maybe a need for emulators... ;)
So do you think the signs should be moving at the same speed?
This looks awsome; the only thing I think that might need to be changed is the animation seems to be conflicting with each other.
Example :
Signs are moving faster than the hills, and this seems to be causing a bit of conflict, If you change animation speed of the signs it would make it look more solid.
Other than that this is awsome one of my favorite games..

It's funny you mention the bridge, that's the only part of the image that didn't go over so great. You know when something just doesn't work no matter how many times you try? That was that bridge. lol
I belive the word your looking for is nostalgic.
This looks very cute. I think the bridge could use a bit of work, only because I think it isn't as clean looking as the rest.
