 I agree with manupix you NEED more contrast in your darker colors, the birds face looks like it's melting into it's body.

Funny char. Could use more contrast, also dithering is unnecessary, esp in a small sprite. Try to better define the volume with shading instead.

 Well you know how to dither, that's a start =p

I think another tone in the shadow of the body would helf define it's form a bit better.

It's hard to critisize something so simple.
