Not bad for your first animation; it totally hits on an important principle of animation (squish squash).
However, I wouldn't thin out the ball nearly as much when it's coming down. It makes sense to do that while it's going up, because of all the energy it has (the exaggeration is also nice). When it comes down however, that's when it lost some energy. On that point, it would make sense to do some bounces where the hieght isn't as high as the first bounces. When you bounce a ball, it gradually loses hieght.
Though, since you want to loop this animation, what you have works for that... But since you're trying to learn about animation, this is good to keep in mind.
Thanks for your comment, I agree I could have added a frame to make the ball more "bouncy". I have to learn some many stuff, but it's cool I like it. And yes, I am programmer, guess what I work in the video game industry, I am specialized in 3d rendering but I love 2d pixel art, I love 2d games.
that's really smooth, my only complaint would be that it needs an extra frame when it hits the ground, or maybe even two. Right now it looks like it's jumping rather then bouncing.
nice and smooth first animation :)
