This is brilliant. One weird thing I'd like to note - background doesn't seem to work for the character - just look at square preview - it's so fitting.
I don't know whether it would be disqualified. I submitted this right at the start of the competition and people have had a whole week to warn me about the legitimacy of my entry. Only three people, including you, have voiced concerns about the palette. Had Jeremy or Jalonso mentioned it, I would've felt compelled to change it. They're normally very swift to tell people where they've gone wrong.
I've gathered that as few hhave made a fuss of this, there's is no issue with my entry. I think that sentence was more to make sure the new pieces weren't carbon copies of the old. I personally see no issue with this because why would anyone change the blues of a blue shark? To make this entry viable I'd simply recolour it to a very similar palette, almost identical palette, anyway.
"Your piece must stand out differently from the one it is based on. Remember, you are just using the content of the original, not the style or colours."
Wouldn't want you to be disqualified on a technicality as it's a nice piece with a good chance of winning a ribbon.
My fav entry! :D
I espessialy like the nose and the teeth!
I can't take credit for the colours, sadly. :( Well, not most of them. They were pleasant to work with though, certainly.
There we go. I've added a background to give it a nicer finish. Thanks for the feedback and compliments, guys.
Oh yes. I always view this site on the (much cooler) Pixelation colour scheme. I see that the bubbles look a complete mess on the original theme. I'll change that when I get chance. I may simply add a background so you can see it at its best.
Lol dog shark. I don't think you made it enough your own though. Literally the only differences in the pieces are the ditheing and the pose.
I think you where meant to change the palette, maybe blend the two palettes together, because at the moment it looks more like the shark.
Awesome! I love the warm light source. :)
On a side note, though, the grey pixels around the bubbles seem kind of unecessary unless you go with a different background color.
...TEETH!!!
