Van Gogh gone crazy with ear-cutting obsession, abandoned painting, dodged the suicide, signed up to a gym membership, and went postal
@ Carnivac: Thanks so much, nice to hear that from such a talented pixelartist!
@ AirStyle: Thanks for the smily invasion, haha
@ SacreDoom: I agree, but didn't want to change it while the challenge is active. Thanks for pointing out, I maybe will edit it soon. And thanks for your comment in general, I like your comments.
Thanks everyone for your votes!
@ TheInquisitor: I understand what you mean, I was of two minds about the readability of the ears and my idea with the barbarian. Well, but I wanted to have a littel story behind the picture. So I'm even more glad that it kinda worked for the most :)
CONGRATUALTIONS!!!!!
Congrats. Great piece and despite your relatively short time here you're a member whose work I look forward to seeing more of.
I cannot read his dagger-wielding hand. It seems too large and round to me, and while the cyan shading colour gives it a nice feel, it messes that hand up badly. I suggest making a larger contrast between the skin, and the lines between the fingers, that way it would be way more easy to read.
That being said, I really like the piece itself, great lighting. You also nailed the textures on both skin and his.. pants?
Beautiful piece, beautiful palette...
...very eerie, but not very ear-y. Those things he's holding could be teeth or decorations on a necklass or anything. I feel obligated not to vote for this because I think it's too far off the topic in mind. However, if it were closer it would surely get my vote.
@Dweller : Haha, me too I had the same image from Game of Thrones ! The wild men like Timmet and his Burned Men :O)
At first I thought that you inspired in Game of Thrones guys (those who collect enemies ears). Fantastic Style.
Holy shit this palette is amazing, i faved as soon as i saw it lol
Love the coloring style! I can't think of a way to make the ears more readable unless you completely changed the pose and had him dangling the ears closer to the viewer.
Thanks for the comments!
Well, I know that the ears are rather small... Thats why I submitted a bigger preview. Don't know how to make them more clear, any suggestions?
Wow, nice nice nice. Especially the knife blade, that is my favorite part. If I had to crit anything, the ears are rather hard to read, and the cord that the ears are strung on seems a bit thick for the purpose.
Very nice colours although I find the ears hard to read. Still an amazing piece. I'm still trying to learn anatomy so I could never pull this off without a direct reference.
Oh. Yes.
